This Vogtland Stoltz Mandriola has 12 strings in 4 courses. The lower 2 courses have 2 low strings with a high string tuned one octave up between them. The higher 2 courses have high strings and the middle string tuned an octave down. It is currently tuned G-D-A-D, but could be tuned like a standard mandolin.

This instrument has a slotted headstock and decorative inlaid scratchplate round the sound hole.

This is an old instrument and shows signs of use, but is in full working order and plays well. There are signs of bowing and distress around the soundhole and on the back, which is reflected by the price.
