VAT Assisted Purchases (AIPS)

There are many schools, councils or music services that offer a HMRC approved VAT Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme (AIPS), this enables pupils of these establishments to purchase musical instruments through their school VAT free, this can end up saving you quite a lot of money.

Do you qualify for this service?

Please get in touch with your local school, music service or council to check if you are eligible, in general the criteria is the following:

• The Instrument must be sold to the school or local authority and then supplied to the pupil or guardian.
• The pupil must be in full time education.
• The instrument must be used as part of their musical tuition.
