A pre-owned 60s Hofner Artist 185 bass guitar.

A unique vintage bass guitar made in Germany likely in the late 1960s.

These early Hofner basses are made of abachi timber with a mahogany veneer. The fingerboard is good quality rosewood with pearl inlays. The neck is made of maple.
The pickups are 'Toaster' style and have individual tone and volume controls and switches. The bass is currently fitted with nylon strings. The tone is warm and grainy, perfect for old-school rock, psychedelic rock and blues.

The condition is very good especially considering it's potentially 60 yr age. There is some minor wear and tear from previous use and time but nothing that would compromise the instrument's sound, functionality or playability.
