The Hasapi is a 2 strings Lute-like instrument originating from the Batak Toba people of Sumatra, Indonesia. This one has the traditional boat shape and has a carved figure on the headstock.

There is a chip on the back of the figure's head as shown in the photos, but it is otherwise in good used condition. It is fully functional as an instrument, or it could be displayed as a decorative piece.
